If you are taking verapamil and breastfeeding at the same time, it is important to know that the medication does pass through breast milk. However, no research has been done to see what kind of effects verapamil could have on a nursing infant. Because of the serious side effects that could occur in the nursing infant, the manufacturer of verapamil does not recommend that women who are breastfeeding take verapamil.
