Among the conditions you should let your healthcare provider know about before taking trandolapril are diabetes, scleroderma, and kidney disease. Also, because trandolapril can potentially interact with numerous other medicines, you should tell your healthcare provider (prior to taking trandolapril) about all other drugs you are currently taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Some other warnings and precautions with trandolapril include the safety of taking trandolapril while pregnant and the risk of serious side effects in some people taking the drug (for example, swelling in the intestines).

 

• Heart disease, including congestive heart failure, aortic stenosis, or hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
• Liver disease, including cirrhosis
• Kidney disease or kidney failure
• Diabetes
• Scleroderma
• Systemic lupus erythematosus (lupus or SLE)
• A personal or family history of angioedema (swelling under the skin)
• Any allergies, including allergies to ACE inhibitors, foods, dyes, or preservatives.
   

• Are pregnant or trying to become pregnant
• Are breastfeeding
• Are on dialysis
• Will be undergoing surgery or anesthesia.
