Trandolapril
Trandolapril is a prescription drug licensed to control high blood pressure. It is also used to improve survival and/or decrease the changes of developing congestive heart failure symptoms following a heart attack. By helping blood vessels relax, the medication increases the efficiency of the heart. This medicine comes in tablet form and is usually taken once or twice a day.
Trandolapril (Mavik®) is a prescription medicine that has been licensed to treat several conditions related to the heart and blood vessels. It is part of a class of drugs called angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors, or ACE inhibitors for short.
As with any medicine, there are possible side effects with trandolapril. However, not everyone who takes trandolapril will experience side effects. The most common side effects of trandolapril include:
- Cough (see Mavik Cough)
- Dizziness
- Diarrhea
- Extremely low blood pressure
- Heartburn or indigestion (dyspepsia).
