Tiazac Side Effects

Side Effects to Report

Some side effects with Tiazac, while occurring infrequently, are potentially serious and should be reported immediately to your healthcare provider. These include but are not limited to:

  • Chest pain
  • An irregular heart rhythm (arrhythmia)
  • Signs of low blood pressure, such as dizziness, lightheadedness, or fainting
  • Depression (see Tiazac and Depression)
  • High blood sugar (hyperglycemia)
  • Hallucinations
  • Signs of an allergic reaction, including an unexplained rash, hives, itching, unexplained swelling, wheezing, or difficulty breathing or swallowing.

Rare Tiazac Side Effects

Although the manufacturer of Tiazac did not specifically report rare side effects for the drug, rare side effects for other forms of Cardizem® were reported. These side effects occur in less than 2 percent of people taking diltiazem (the active ingredient of Tiazac). Because these side effects are so uncommon, it is difficult to tell whether they are actually caused by diltiazem alone or something else.
