Rythmol SR Dosage

Rythmol SR capsules are taken twice daily to help treat atrial fibrillation. The recommended starting dosage of Rythmol SR is 225 mg, which is taken every 12 hours. If necessary, this amount can be increased gradually, up to 425 mg twice daily. People with liver disease or certain heart conditions may need lower amounts.

An Introduction to Dosing With Rythmol SR

The dose of Rythmol SR® (propafenone SR) your healthcare provider recommends will vary, depending on a number of factors, including:

  • How you respond to the medication
  • Other medical conditions you may have.

As is always the case, do not adjust your dosage unless your healthcare provider specifically tells you to do so.

What Is the Recommended Rythmol SR Dosage?

The recommended initial dosage of Rythmol SR in people with atrial fibrillation is usually 225 mg every 12 hours. Your healthcare provider may increase this amount to 325 mg every 12 hours, no sooner than five days after you start treatment. If your symptoms are not adequately controlled, your healthcare provider may increase your dose again to 425 mg every 12 hours.

People with liver disease or certain heart rhythm problems (such as heart block) may need lower Rythmol SR doses.

General Information on Taking Rythmol SR

  • This medication can be taken with or without food. Try taking it with food if it seems to bother your stomach.
