Rythmol SR 325

Available by prescription only, Rythmol SR® (propafenone SR) comes as a capsule that is taken twice daily to treat atrial fibrillation, a type of problem with the heart rhythm. The usual recommended starting dosage is 225 mg every 12 hours. Your healthcare provider may increase this amount to 325 mg of Rythmol SR every 12 hours, no sooner than five days after you start treatment. If your symptoms are still not adequately controlled, your healthcare provider may increase your dose again to 425 mg every 12 hours.
Your specific dosage will depend on how you respond to the medication, other medical conditions you have, and various other factors. Older adults and those who have liver disease may need to use lower Rythmol SR doses. Possible side effects include nausea, tiredness, and changes in taste.
