Drug Interactions With Propafenone

Haloperidol
Propafenone may increase the level of haloperidol in your bloodstream, which could increase your risk for side effects. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction before taking these medicines together.
 
Imipramine
Propafenone may increase the amount of imipramine in your bloodstream, increasing your risk for side effects. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction before combining these medications.
 
QT-Prolonging Medications
Your healthcare provider may need to monitor you closely if you take propafenone with any other medication that can cause QT prolongation (a certain change in the heart rhythm) due to the risk of a life-threatening abnormal heartbeat (heart arrhythmia).
 
Orlistat
Orlistat may decrease the amount of propafenone absorbed into the body from the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. There have been reports of people experiencing severe side effects after abruptly stopping orlistat during propafenone treatment. If you take orlistat, let your healthcare provider know. Also, do not suddenly stop taking this medication without talking to your healthcare provider.
 
Theophylline
Propafenone may increase blood levels of theophylline, potentially increasing your risk for theophylline toxicity. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction before taking these drugs together.
 
Venlafaxine
