Pitavastatin

When and How to Take Pitavastatin

Some general considerations for taking this medication include the following:
 
  • Pitavastatin comes in tablet form. It is usually taken once a day.
     
  • This medication can be taken with or without food.
     
  • It does not matter what time of day you take pitavastatin. However, you should try to take it at the same time each day to maintain an even level of the medicine in your blood.
     
  • Pitavastatin should be used in addition to a low-cholesterol diet. Try to avoid eating foods that are high in cholesterol or fat to help lower your cholesterol levels.
     
  • For the medication to work properly, it must be taken as prescribed.
     

Storage Information

Pitavastatin should be stored at room temperature, away from moisture, heat, and light. Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children.
