The following sections explain in detail the potentially negative interactions that can occur when omega-3 fatty acids are combined with any of the drugs listed above.
 
Medications That "Thin" the Blood
Combining an omega-3 supplement with anticoagulant or antiplatelet medications may increase the risk of bleeding, including dangerous internal bleeding. If you regularly take one of these medications, do not take an omega-3 fatty acid supplement without checking with your healthcare provider.
 
Orlistat (Alli, Xenical)
Orlistat works by blocking the absorption of fat into your body. This action could block the absorption of omega-3 fatty acids into the body. To avoid this problem, be sure to take orlistat and your omega-3 supplement at least two hours apart.
