How Should This Medication Be Stored?Nitrostat should be stored at room temperature, protected from light and moisture. Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children and pets. Keep the tablets in the original glass bottle they came in, and be aware of the expiration date on the bottle. Keep the bottle tightly capped.
Be aware that although Nitrostat tablets often cause a tingling or burning sensation in the mouth, this sensation cannot be used to judge the potency of the tablets.

Can I Buy Generic Nitrostat?At this time, this medication is not available in generic form. At one point, there were unapproved versions of nitroglycerin tablets available that might have been considered generics. However, Nitrostat is the only nitroglycerin tablet approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the unapproved generics are no longer available.
