Nitrolingual Drug Interactions

If alcohol, blood pressure medications, ergot medicines, or certain other products are taken with Nitrolingual, drug interactions may occur. These can lead to an increased risk for side effects or may decrease the medications' effectiveness. To ensure a safe treatment process, tell your healthcare provider about all other medications you are taking.

Nitrolingual® Pumpspray (nitroglycerin spray) can potentially react with several other medications. Some of the drugs that may lead to interactions with Nitrolingual include:
 
  • Alcohol
  • Alteplase (Activase®)
  • Blood pressure medications
  • Ergot medications, such as:
     
    • Bromocriptine (Parlodel®)
    • Dihydroergotamine (Migranal®)
    • Ergonovine
    • Ergotamine (Cafergot®, Ergomar®)
    • Methylergonovine (Methergine®)
    • Pergolide (Permax®)
 
  • Phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5 inhibitors), such as:
