Drug Interactions With Nitroglycerin Spray

If certain medicines or substances are taken in combination with nitroglycerin spray, negative drug interactions could occur. Some of these reactions can decrease the effectiveness of the drugs or increase your risk for complications like low blood pressure. Ergot medicines, alcohol, and blood pressure medications are among the substances that can react with nitroglycerin spray.

Nitroglycerin spray (Nitrolingual®, NitroMist®) may react with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that can lead to interactions with nitroglycerin spray include but are not limited to:
 
 
    • Bromocriptine (Parlodel®)
    • Dihydroergotamine (Migranal®)
    • Ergonovine
    • Ergotamine (Cafergot®, Ergomar®)
    • Methylergonovine (Methergine®)
