Nitro-Dur Drug Interactions

Nitro-Dur may react negatively with alcohol, calcium channel blockers, ergot medications, and various other drugs. Interactions with Nitro-Dur may decrease the effectiveness of the medications or increase the risk for serious complications, such as low blood pressure or heart attacks. Before beginning treatment, tell your healthcare provider about any other medicine, vitamin, or herbal supplement you are taking.

An Overview of Interactions With Nitro-Dur

Nitro-Dur® (nitroglycerin patch) may react with a number of other medications. Some of the drugs that can lead to interactions with Nitro-Dur include but are not limited to:
 
 
 
  • Ergot medications, such as:
 
    • Bromocriptine (Parlodel®)
    • Dihydroergotamine (Migranal®)
    • Ergonovine
    • Ergotamine (Cafergot®, Ergomar®)
    • Methylergonovine (Methergine®)
    • Pergolide (Permax®)
 
  • Phosphodiesterase type-5 (PDE5) inhibitors, such as:
