Metoprolol Tablets

Metoprolol (Lopressor^® and Toprol-XL^®) is a prescription medication used to treat several conditions involving the heart and blood vessels, such as congestive heart failure, angina, and high blood pressure. It can also help improve survival rates following a heart attack.

The drug comes in the form of immediate-release or extended-release tablets. Metoprolol is typically taken once or twice a day, and the tablets are available in several strengths.

The immediate-release tablets come in a number of strengths, including:

Lopressor or generic metoprolol tartrate 50 mg
Lopressor or generic metoprolol tartrate 100 mg.

The extended-release tablets also come in several strengths, including:

Toprol-XL or generic metoprolol succinate 25 mg
Toprol-XL or generic metoprolol succinate 50 mg
Toprol-XL or generic metoprolol succinate 100 mg
Toprol-XL or generic metoprolol succinate 200 mg.
