Drug Interactions With Metoprolol

Not all medicines respond well when taken together, and there is always the possibility of developing negative drug interactions. With metoprolol, these interactions can cause your body to metabolize the medicines differently than intended and result in: excessive drug levels in your system, extremely low blood pressure, slow heart rate, or low blood sugar levels, among other things. Medications that may potentially lead to drug interactions with metoprolol include calcium channel blockers, certain diabetes medicines, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
