Final Thoughts on Fish Oil Effectiveness

Fish oil is effective for lowering triglycerides and preventing repeat heart attacks. It is probably useful for a number of other conditions as well. However, it is not free of side effects, and it is usually recommended that you take it under the supervision of your healthcare provider. This is especially important if you take it in high doses (which are often necessary to obtain the health benefits of fish oil).
