Amlodipine Besylate
Available by prescription only, amlodipine besylate (Norvasc®) is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure, certain types of angina, and coronary heart failure. This medication comes in the form of a tablet and is typically taken once a day.
As a type of calcium channel blocker, amlodipine besylate works by slowing down the rate at which calcium moves into your heart and blood vessel walls. This helps relax the blood vessels, which improves blood flow and the efficiency of the heart.
Most people tolerate it well; however, this product can cause side effects, including dizziness, nausea, and fatigue. Also, make sure your healthcare provider has information about other drugs you are taking before starting treatment with amlodipine besylate. This medication may not be suitable for people with certain medical conditions, such as liver disease or congestive heart failure.
