Usual Flecainide Dosage

Your healthcare provider will determine an appropriate dose of flecainide acetate (Tambocor™) based on other medical conditions you have, how well you tolerate this medication, and various other factors. This medicine comes in the form of tablets that are taken two or three times daily.

The usual recommended starting dosage of flecainide for preventing certain heart rhythm problems is 50 mg to 100 mg every 8 or 12 hours. However, this amount may be adjusted, depending on how you tolerate the medication. Older adults and people with severe kidney disease may need lower doses.

In some cases, you may need to take your initial doses of flecainide in a hospital setting, where you can be carefully monitored.
