DHA Drug Interactions

Be sure to tell your healthcare provider about any other medications you are using before taking DHA. Drug interactions could occur if DHA is taken together with blood pressure medicines, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin, or warfarin. These negative DHA interactions can increase your risk of bleeding or block the absorption of DHA into the body.

 

An Introduction to DHA Drug Interactions

Even though it is a "natural" product,
 DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) can potentially interact with several medicines. Some of the medicines that may lead to DHA interactions include:
 

 

    • Dalteparin (Fragmin®)
    • Enoxaparin (Lovenox®)
    • Tinzaparin (Innohep®)

 

  • Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), such as:
