Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD)
Clopidogrel helps relieve pain in people with a severe form of a blood vessel disease called peripheral artery disease (PAD). PAD often affects the ability to walk without pain and also increases the risk of
heart attack,
stroke, and amputation related to a harmful clot. These clots can block the already poor blood flow in people with PAD.
Acute Coronary Syndrome
Acute coronary syndrome is a term used to describe certain
types of heart diseases, including
unstable angina and certain types of heart attacks. For people with a history of acute coronary syndrome, clopidogrel has shown to decrease the risk for a heart attack, stroke, and death.
