Risk Factors for Cardiovascular Disease

If I Have Risk Factors for Cardiovascular Disease, Will I Get It?

Keep in mind that people with risk factors for cardiovascular disease are not guaranteed to get a condition. However, the more risk factors people have, the greater their chances. Also, while certain risks for cardiovascular disease cannot be changed, it is important to realize that you do have control over many others. Protecting your heart and blood vessels can be as simple as taking a brisk walk, eating heart-healthy foods, or getting the support you need to maintain a healthy weight.
