Infections With a Heart Catheterization

Since
 cardiac catheterization is a sterile procedure, infections are extremely unusual. The risk has decreased even further with the use of disposable single-use catheters that are certified as sterile. Any infections with a heart catheterization that do occur are usually minor and involve the vein that was used to insert the catheter.
