Equipment Failure During a Cardiac Cath
A complication of cardiac catheterization ("cardiac cath") worth noting relates to the failure of mechanical medical equipment. Medical equipment is regularly tested and meets strict U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) standards. Medical equipment problems are extremely rare, but products can fail or malfunction. In most cases, if they occur, complications are minor and can be treated without difficulty by your doctor.
