Betapace Interactions

If you take clonidine, calcium channel blockers, or certain other medications in combination with Betapace, drug interactions may occur that could lead to serious side effects, such as low blood pressure, a slow heart rate, or strokes. Some interactions can also increase your risk of developing dangerous arrhythmias. Other medications that may react negatively with Betapace include digoxin, reserpine, diuretics, and diabetes medicines.

An Overview of Betapace Interactions

 Betapace® (sotalol hydrochloride) can potentially interact with several other medications. Some of the medicines that may lead to drug interactions with Betapace include but are not limited to:

  • Certain other arrhythmia medications, such as:
 
    • Amiodarone (Cordarone®, Pacerone®)
    • Disopyramide (Norpace®, Norpace CR®)
    • Dofetilide (Tikosyn®)
    • Flecainide (Tambocor™)
    • Ibutilide (Corvert®)
    • Procainamide (Procanbid®)
    • Propafenone (Rythmol®, Rythmol® SR)
