Kidney Problems After Angioplasty
Temporary or permanent kidney problems are a rare but serious complication of angioplasty. The precise cause of the kidney failure has not been established. Most of the time, these problems are temporary and cause no permanent damage. Kidney function usually returns to normal within seven days. Fewer than 1 in 100 patients that do develop kidney problems go on to require chronic dialysis.
