Infections Following Angioplasty

Since
 angioplasty is a sterile procedure, infections are extremely unusual. The risk has decreased even further with the use of disposable single-use catheters that are certified as sterile. Infections that do occur are usually minor. In most cases, the site of the infection is the vein in which the catheter was inserted.
