Drug Interactions With Amiodarone Premixed Injection

Lidocaine
Combining lidocaine with amiodarone premixed injection may cause a dangerously low heart rate. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction before using these medicines together.

Loratadine
There have been reports of serious heart rhythm problems occurring in people who took amiodarone premixed injection with loratadine. It is probably best to avoid using these medications together. If you do combine them, your healthcare provider will need to monitor you more closely for potential heart rhythm problems.

Methotrexate
Amiodarone premixed injection can increase blood levels of methotrexate, increasing the risk for side effects. Talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction before using these medicines together.

QT-Prolonging Medications
In general, amiodarone premixed injection should not be combined with most medications that can cause QT prolongation (a certain change in the heart rhythm) unless absolutely necessary, due to the risk of a life-threatening arrhythmia.

Other Arrhythmia Medications
Amiodarone premixed injection can increase blood levels of other antiarrhythmia medicines, increasing the risk for side effects. In general, these medicines should only be used together in people who did not adequately respond to treatment with just one antiarrhythmia drug. If you must use amiodarone premixed injection with another antiarrhythmic, your healthcare provider will give you lower-than-usual doses of the other antiarrhythmia medicine.

Trazodone
There have been reports of serious heart rhythm problems occurring in people who used amiodarone premixed injection with trazodone. You should talk to your healthcare provider about this potential interaction before using these medications together.
